
Five Divers Head to NCAA Zone E Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. โ Five UCLA divers will have a chance to qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with strong performances at the Zone E Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz. The meet, hosted by Northern Arizona University, will run from Monday, March 6 through Wednesday, March 8 and begin at 10:00 a.m. (PT) each day. Live results will be available at divemeets.com.
The schedule for each day is below. All times are tentative, and are listed in Pacific Standard Time.
Monday, March 6
Women's 3-meter Prelims: 10:00 a.m.
Women's 3-meter Finals: 1:35 p.m.
Men's 1-meter Prelims: 4:35 p.m.
Men's 1-meter Finals: 6:20 p.m.
Tuesday, March 7
Women's 1-meter Prelims: 10:00 a.m.
Women's 1-meter Finals: 1:35 p.m.
Men's 3-meter Prelims: 4:35 p.m.
Men's 3-meter Finals: 6:20 p.m.
Wednesday, March 8
Women's Platform Prelims: 10:00 a.m.
Women's Platform Finals: 12:35 p.m.
Men's Platform Prelims: 2:50 p.m.
Men's Platform Finals: 4:35 p.m.
The first two days of action will feature the full lineup zone-score-achieving UCLA participants, as Eloise Belanger, Kat Friese, Annika Lenz, Ciara Monahan and Pac-12 Champion Maria Polyakova will each compete in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events. The third day will see Belanger, Friese and Lenz take on the platform.
The women's 3-meter and 1-meter events will each feature 58 entries, while 45 divers will participate in the platform event. Each day, 18 finalists will be determined by their preliminary scores, and final placing will be determined by adding both preliminary and final dive lists together.
The following individuals will advance to the NCAA Championships, to be held in Indianapolis from Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18.
Women's 3-meter: Top 9 spots; Men's 1-meter: Top 9 spots
Women's 1-meter: Top 11 spots; Men's 3-meter: Top 5 spots
Women's Platform: Top 11 spots: Men's Platform: Top 7 spots
Additionally, any athlete earning an automatic spot listed above, but also placing in the Top 12 in any additional event, will have the opportunity to compete in that event at the NCAA Championships, provided they have achieved the qualifying score in that event.
