UCLA TRAVELS TO CORVALLIS FOR EASTER WEEKEND SERIES
The eighth-ranked Bruins head to Corvallis for an Easter weekend series at Oregon State. The series begins on Thursday at 2 p.m., continues on Friday at 3 p.m. and concludes on Saturday at 2 p.m. All three games will air live on Pac-12 Network and feature live stats on UCLABruins.com.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Bruins play four times at Easton Stadium next week, hosting Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. and California in a three-game series (Friday, April 21 - 7 p.m., Saturday, April 22 - 7 p.m., Sunday, April 23 - 5 p.m.).

TRIO OF TUESDAY AWARDS FOR RACHEL GARCIA
Redshirt freshman Rachel Garcia was recognized with three awards on Tuesday, earning USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week, Pac-12 Conference Pitcher of the Week and Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors.
Garcia helped the Bruins to a series victory over then-#1 Oregon last weekend. In the circle, she picked up a pair of wins last Friday and Saturday, posting a 1.66 earned run average in the three games with eight strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings. At the plate, Garcia had hits in all three contests, going 4-for-8 with an RBI, a run and a pair of doubles.
Garcia tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout last Friday versus the Ducks, striking out three. She also scored the game-winning run in the second inning after reaching base on a single. The next night, Garcia picked up another win, this time in relief, with three shutout innings and three strikeouts, adding another single. On Sunday, Garcia doubled in each of her first two at-bats, including an RBI two-bagger in the fourth inning.
For the season, Garcia is 12-5 with a 1.79 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings, while recording a .295 batting average, three home runs, 16 runs batted in and six doubles.
Garcia recorded the 16th USA Softball National Player of the Week award in program history and the first since 2014. She also picked up her third and fourth weekly conference honors. Garcia was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 21 and Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on March 28. This week's awards mark the 65th Pac-10/12 Pitcher of the Week for UCLA and the fourth Freshman of the Week honor in just the third year the award has been bestowed.
NEWS AND NOTES
The Bruins recorded the program's 1,800th victory with their win on March 26 against Dartmouth ... UCLA had 17 comeback victories last season and already has nine this year, including another one versus Dartmouth ... the Bruins were 22-0 last year when leading after five innings and 23-0 when up after six. This year, UCLA is 20-0 and 21-0 in those instances ... the Bruins led the nation in double plays last season (45) and have 18 in 2017 (T-22nd) ... UCLA also enters this week's play ranked ninth in home runs (43) and 17th in slugging (.501) ... in the circle, redshirt freshman Rachel Garcia did not allow a run in her two wins against #1 Oregon last weekend, the 14th and 15th times in 25 appearances in which she has not allowed a run. At the plate, Garcia has hits in seven of her last eight contests, batting .385 (10-for-26) with two homers and four RBI during that stretch ... junior Johanna Grauer has allowed zero or one earned run in 13 of her 20 appearances, recording a 0.77 ERA, an 8-0 record and 55 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings in those contests ... sophomore Paige Halstead had a five-game hitting streak from March 26-April 7, batting .625 (10-for-16) with three RBI during that stretch. The streak began with three-straight, multiple-hit contests, going 3-for-3 versus Dartmouth and 2-for-4 and 3-for-4 in the first two contests in Washington ... junior Madeline Jelenicki had hits in all three games against Oregon to extend her hitting streak to six. Over her last half dozen contests, Jelenicki is batting .421 (8-for-19) with two homers and eight RBI ... senior Gabrielle Maurice reached base in all three games at Washington, posting two hits, two walks and two hit by pitches ... freshman Bubba Nickles ended the Washington series on a high note, going 4-for-8 in the last two contests to snap a seven-game hitless streak. Three of her hits were doubles, while the fourth was a homer in the series finale as she drove in three in that game to tie a season high ... junior Kylee Perez had two multiple-hit contests in Seattle and continues to lead the team in that category with 16. In her last at-bat of last weekend versus Oregon, Perez drove in a pair on a single, her sixth multi-RBI contest ... sophomore Zoe Shaw had an impact in all three games against Oregon, driving in the game-winning run in game one, scoring the walk-off run on a passed ball in game two and posting two singles in game three. She also had a great defensive play in the middle contest, gunning down a runner at the plate from second after entering that position from right field following an injury to Perez ... senior Delaney Spaulding has hits in 29 of her 38 contests. She is in the UCLA Top 10 in 10 categories, including second in runs scored (210), third in doubles (55) and fourth in slugging percentage (.709) ... junior Selina Ta'amilo did not allow an earned run in 21 1/3 consecutive innings from March 3-12. She tossed six shutout innings on Saturday against Oregon ... sophomore Brianna Tautalafua has hits in 15 of her last 18, including five of the last six Pac-12 contests. She leads the team in home runs with 10, the last of which came in the series finale at Washington.
SCOUTING THE OREGON STATE BEAVERS
Oregon State comes into this week's series at 19-17 overall and 2-7 in Pac-12 play, winning one of three at Washington last weekend. The Beavers are batting .298 as a team with 26 home runs and 28 stolen bases, averaging 5.0 runs per game. Sophomore Shelby Weeks leads the team with a .390 average and 10 steals, junior McKenna Arriola is second with a .384 average and junior Alysha Everett is tied for the team lead with six home runs. Senior Taylor Cotton has a team-low ERA of 2.24, posting a 7-4 record and 80 strikeouts in 87 2/3 innings, while freshman Nerissa Eason is 8-10 with a 4.20 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 90 innings.ย
THE SERIES: BRUINS VS. BEAVERS
The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Beavers 96-13 and won two of three at Easton Stadium last season. UCLA has won 10 of the last 11 against Oregon State, including five in a row in Corvallis, where the Bruins have a 38-7 record.
