LOS ANGELES - Senior Delaney Spaulding and freshman Bubba Nickles each hit a pair of home runs on Sunday at Easton Stadium to help the 13th-ranked Bruins complete a sweep of California, winning the final contest 8-1.

The Bruins (33-12, 8-7 Pac-12) had 10 hits from seven different players, as Spaulding recorded three hits. In the circle, redshirt freshman Rachel Garcia improved to 15-7, striking out four in 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief, giving up two hits and two walks. She struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 third inning and would end up posting two more 1-2-3 frames in the sixth and seventh. Junior Johanna Grauer started and allowed a run, one hit and three walks in 1 2/3 innings.

California (26-16, 3-11) got the scoring started in the top of the second on a bases-loaded walk to Jazmyn Jackson, but UCLA came back with two in its half of the inning on a two-out rally. Sophomore Zoe Shaw drew a walk and came home on Spaulding's first homer of the game and ninth of the season, an opposite field shot to right, to make it 2-1.

The Bruins tacked on three more runs in the third. With one out, Garcia walked and came home on Nickles' first homer of the game, a shot to left-center, which was her seventh of the season. Senior Gabrielle Maurice followed with an infield single, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a double to left-center by sophomore Paige Halstead to make it 5-1.

In the fifth, a solo homer to left with one out by Nickles would be her second of the game to set a career high and eighth of the season to up the lead to 6-1.

Spaulding finished off the scoring in the sixth. Shaw tripled off the top of the center field wall to open the frame and then came home on Spaulding's homer to left. It was the 10thย bomb of the season for the senior and the fourth time she has recorded a two-jack game in her career.

The Bruins play four times next week, all on the road, starting on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. contest at CSUN. Live audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.
