TOLEDO, Ohio - Thunderstorms canceled the final round of the Inverness Intercollegiate at the Inverness Club, as the Bruins finished in a tie for third in their first tournament of the 2017-2018 season.

UCLA posted a 3-under 565 in a pair of rounds (36 holes) on Monday. Sophomore Hidetoshi Yoshihara was the top Bruin finisher with a T-6 showing (-4, 138), while junior Cole Madey also finished in the Top 10 (T-9, -3, 139). Senior Corey Shaun (T-15, -1, 141) and freshman Eddy Lai (T-20, E, 142), playing as individuals, placed inside the Top 20. Senior Tyler Collier tied for 43rd (+4, 146), while junior Patrick Murphy and freshman Devon Bling each tied for 49th (+5, 147).
The Bruins are back in the Midwest for their next tournament, taking part in the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills (Oct. 1-3) in Erin, Wis. at the Erin Hills Golf Course, the site of the 2017 U.S. Open.
