Top-Ranked Bruins Through Two Rounds in Napa

NAPA, Calif. - The top-ranked Bruins are tied for third after two rounds at the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Country Club, while freshman Patty Tavatanakit is tied for fourth, recording her second under-par round in a row on Monday.
As a team, UCLA shot a 2-over 290, two shots better than Sunday, and is tied with Texas at +6 (582). The Bruins are seven strokes back of first-place Stanford (-1, 575) and five behind second-place USC (+1, 577).
Tavatanakit shot a 3-under 69 on Monday and is at 4-under 140 after two rounds, two shots back of the individual lead (-6; Mika Liu - Stanford; Jennifer Chang - USC). The Bruin freshman made an eagle on the par-5 16th, adding birdies on #3, #9, #12 and #14 and three bogeys.
Junior Lilia Vu was even par (72) in her second round and is tied for 11th at 1-over 145. She balanced her books with a pair of birdies (#6 and #13) and two bogeys. Sophomore Mariel Galdiano is tied for 24th (+4, 148), shooting a 1-over 73 in round two. She made four birdies on #5, #9, #17 and #18, three bogeys and a double. Junior Beth Wu is tied for 30th (+5, 149), notching a 4-over 76 on Monday, making her lone birdie on #18 to go with three bogeys and a double. Senior Erin Choi (T-83, +16, 160) shot an 83 (+11) with eight bogeys and a triple.
The final round will be a shotgun start on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. on holes #1 through #3 in the order of Vu and Tavatanakit (#1), Galdiano (#2) and Choi and Wu (#3). Live scoring will be available here.
