SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - Four Bruin individuals nearly completed two full rounds of play at the Northern Intercollegiate at Rich Harvest Farms before darkness halted action. The quartet of junior Harrison Mahon and freshmen Ahmed Ali, Rory Feng and Bryan Wiyang Teoh completed between 32 and 35 holes of action on Saturday and will finish their second rounds on Sunday at 6:15 a.m. PT/8:15 a.m. CT, which will be followed by the final round.
Mahon shot an opening-round, 2-over 74 in the morning, making two birdies (No. 10 and 16) and four bogeys. He is even par so far in his second round with one hole to go. In round two, Mahon has an eagle on the 11th, three birdies on No. 18, 1 and 2 and five bogeys. He is currently tied for 20th at 2-over.
Teoh posted a 5-over 77 in round one, making four birdies on No. 5, 11, 12 and 17, seven bogeys and a double. He is also even par so far in his second round with two holes remaining. Teoh made three straight birdies (No. 3-5) to go with three bogeys. He is currently tied for 34th (+5).
Feng shot an even-par 72 in his first collegiate round on Saturday morning, making four birdies on No. 18, 11, 13 and 15 and four bogeys. With four holes left in his second round, he is 6-over, having made two birdies on the third and 10th, six bogeys and a double. Feng is tied for 40th (+6).
Ali recorded a 6-over 78 in his morning round, producing two birdies (No. 1 and 10) and eight bogeys. In round two, with three holes left, he is 4-over. Ali made back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th, two bogeys and two doubles. He is currently tied for 58th.
