LAKE ELMO, Minn. - The top-ranked Bruins sit in sixth place at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, with rain and lightning suspending play at the Royal Golf Club on Monday. Two players were able to finish their rounds, and with five holes left for three golfers, UCLA is at even par, nine shots back of the lead.
Junior Mariel Galdiano was able to finish her opening round on Monday and shot a 1-under 71. She is tied for 11th after making three birdies on No. 6, 15 and 17 and two bogeys. Senior Beth Wu and sophomore Patty Tavatanakit are both tied for 17th at even par. Wu finished her round of 72, making four birdies (No. 3, 9, 15 and 18), two bogeys and a double. Tavatanakit has two holes remaining, producing birdies on No. 2, 3 and 11 and three bogeys. Senior Lilia Vu, with two holes left, is tied for 28th at 1-over. She made two birdies on the 11th and 15th and three bogeys. Junior Clare Legaspi is tied for 49th (+4) with one hole to go, tallying three birdies (No. 2, 15 and 16) and seven bogeys.
The first round will resume at 6 a.m. PT/8 a.m. CT, with round two starting at 7 a.m. PT/9 a.m. CT in the order of Galdiano, Wu, Legaspi, Tavatanakit and Vu.
