Galdiano and Tavatanakit Share Lead at Golfweek Conference Challenge

WOLCOTT, Colo. - The top-ranked Bruins maintained their advantage after 36 holes at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Red Sky Golf Club on Tuesday, with junior Mariel Galdiano and sophomore Patty Tavatanakit holding a share of the lead heading into Wednesday's final round.
As a team, the Bruins posted a 4-under 284 to extend their lead to 13 strokes (-15, 561) over second-place Pepperdine (-2, 574).
Galdiano (-6, 138) recorded a second-round, 4-under 68, making seven birdies, including three in a row on holes No. 15-17. She also gained strokes on No. 3, 4, 8 and 13 to go with three bogeys.
Tavatanakit scored a 2-under 70, posting four birdies on No. 5, 7, 11 and 12 and two bogeys to get to her total of 6-under 138.
Junior Clare Legaspi is tied for third at 3-under 141. She shot a 1-over 73 in round two, notching three birdies on No. 7, 10 and 18 and four bogeys. Senior Lilia Vu recorded a 1-over 73 and is tied for 13th at 1-over 145. She posted a pair of birdies on the 15th and 17th on Tuesday and three bogeys. Senior Beth Wu is tied for 32nd (+6, 150), recording a 7-over 79 in round two, making three birdies on No. 7, 13 and 15, eight bogeys and a double.
The final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. PT/9 a.m. CT, with Galdiano and Tavatanakit starting on the first hole, Vu and Legaspi on the second and Wu on the third.
