Bling Ace Highlights Final Day in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. - Junior Hidetoshi Yoshihara was the top Bruin finisher at the Arizona Intercollegiate at the Sewailo Golf Club, while sophomore Devon Bling made a hole-in-one, as UCLA finished in sixth place following the final round on Tuesday.
The Bruins shot a 1-under 283 as a team to finish at 17-under 835.
Yoshihara placed in a tie for eighth at 8-under 205, posting a 1-under 70 on Tuesday. He made a pair of birdies on the 12th and first holes, with just one bogey on No. 5. Senior Cole Madey tied for 16th (-5, 208), recording a 2-over 73. He made a birdie on the third hole and three bogeys. Freshman Sean Maruyama tied for 27th (-2, 211), notching a 3-over 74 on four birdies (No. 8, 13, 16 and 2), five bogeys and a double.
Bling and sophomore Eddy Lai tied Yoshihara for the low round of the day for UCLA. Lai tied for 45th (+2, 215) after his 1-under 70, posting three birdies in his final four holes (No. 1, 3 and 4) and two bogeys. On Bling's third hole of the day, the par-3 seventh, he made a hole-in-one. Bling would add two more birdies on No. 14 and 1 and three bogeys, finishing in a tie for 51st (+3, 216).
At the Arizona Medalist at the Randolph Golf Course, freshman Bryan Wiyang Teoh tied for fifth at 7-under 209 after an even-par 72. He made three birdies on No. 7, 9 and 13 and three bogeys. Senior Patrick Murphy tied for 10th at 3-under 213, as he also shot an even-par 72. He made an eagle on the par-5 13th, four birdies (No. 3, 4, 9 and 14), four bogeys and a double. Senior Jack Ireland tied for 18th (E, 216), shooting a 3-over 75 on five birdies (No. 9, 12, 13, 16 and 17) and eight bogeys.
Next up for the Bruins is the Prestige at PGA West (Feb. 18-20) at the PGA West Greg Norman Golf Course in La Quinta, Calif.
