BRUINS RETURN HOME TO FACE STANFORD, CAL
The UCLA women's volleyball team is back at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom this weekend, hosting No. 2 Stanford on Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 15 California on Sunday at 12 p.m. The UCLA-Stanford match will air on ESPNU, while the UCLA-Cal contest will feature a free video stream on UCLABruins.com. Both matches will also have audio at UCLABruins.com.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Bruins are back on the road next weekend, taking on No. 24 Washington State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and No. 9 Washington on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Both matches will air on Pac-12 Network.

BRUINS IN THE RANKINGS
Junior Mac May is eighth in the nation in kills per set (4.70), ninth in points per set (5.29) and 30th in attacks per set (11.39). As a team, the Bruins are 24th in the country in assists per set (12.84) and 32nd in kills per set (13.61). Among Pac-12 teams, UCLA ranks second in kps and aps and third in digs per set (15.34). May is second in kps and pps, while sophomore Kelli Barry is ninth with 3.71 dps.

NEWS AND NOTES
Eight of UCLA's 10 victories have been by sweep, with the other two coming in five sets ... the Bruins were the last undefeated team in Pac-12 play, starting at 3-0, which marked their first such start since 2007 ... UCLA had eight aces in consecutive matches against USC (Sept. 25) and Arizona State (Sept. 29). It marked the first time since October 2012 that UCLA had at least eight aces in back-to-back contests ... Michael Sealy won his 200th career contest as a head coach on Sept. 6 against Texas State ... junior Mac May posted her sixth double-double of the season on Sunday at Oregon State (19 kills/11 digs), also recording her ninth double-figure kills match in a row and 15th of the year. May's 22 kills at Oregon on Friday marked the fifth time in her career she surpassed the 20-kill plateau. She set a new career high with 29 kills against Washington on Oct. 6. May leads the team with 19 service aces, having posted at least one in seven of eight matches and multiple aces five times on the season ... senior Savvy Simo also has six double-doubles this season after producing one at OSU with 18 digs and 10 kills. She has 10 double-figure kills matches this year and 10 contests with at least 10 digs. Simo set a new career high against Washington with 19 kills. Along with her solid defense behind the 10-foot line, Simo registered the match-clinching solo block against the Beavers ... the Bruins have hit .280 or better in four of the last seven contests behind the setting of senior Cali Thompson and sophomore Devon Chang. Both recorded double-doubles in Sunday's win at OSU, with Thompson producing 32 assists and 10 digs and Chang notching 28 assists and 11 digs. Thompson has five double-doubles in Pac-12 play, including three in a row, and has served an ace in five of eight contests ... sophomore Kelli Barry has an ace in three matches in a row to give her 11 on the season, which is tied for second on the team. She had her third two-ace match on Oct. 13 at Colorado. The team leader in digs per set (3.71) has 12 double-figure digs matches, including two in a row ... junior Jenny Mosser recorded her second double-figure kills match of the season on Sunday with 13 at OSU. She also served four aces at Oregon on Friday, which tied a career high. Mosser has stepped up her game on the defensive side of the ball, producing at least five blocks in four of her last eight matches ... redshirt sophomore Emily Ryan had an outstanding match at Oregon State, recording a career-high 11 kills and no errors in 20 attempts for a .550 hitting percentage to go with seven blocks, which tied a personal best. Ryan has at least four blocks in five of her last eight matches, including seven more against USC on Sept. 25 ... redshirt freshman Lexi Hadrych posted a career-best 15 kills at Oregon State, her third match this season with at least eight kills ... Friday will represent women's volleyball's Centennial Match. UCLA will celebrate its first 100 years with a year-long, university-wide Centennial Celebration. UCLA Athletics has several Centennial Celebration plans and giveaways in store for designated home events, including a set of 13 Centennial pins highlighting each sport, as well as a souvenir mosaic poster that features personal photos submitted by UCLA fans.ย 

SCOUTING THE STANFORD CARDINAL
Stanford (13-3, 7-1 Pac-12) has won six in a row, which included a five-set victory over Utah on Sunday. The Cardinal are averaging 14.75 kills, 1.29 aces, 15.15 digs and 2.81 blocks per set, hitting .285 as a team. Senior Kathryn Plummer leads the team with 5.18 kills per set, followed by senior Audriana Fitzmorris (2.89) and freshman Kendall Kipp (2.57). Senior Jenna Gray handles the setting duties and is posting 11.71 assists per set. Senior Morgan Hentz is first with 4.93 digs per set, while graduate student Madeleine Gates (1.34) and sophomore Holly Campbell (1.33) are each averaging over a block per set.

THE SERIES: UCLA VS. STANFORD
The Bruins trail the all-time series, 53-40, with Stanford winning the last four. UCLA, which is 18-24 at home versus the Cardinal, swept the season series in 2016, winning in four at Pauley and in five in Palo Alto.ย 

SCOUTING THE CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS
California (17-1, 7-1 Pac-12) takes on USC on Friday before coming to Pauley on Sunday. The Golden Bears dropped their Pac-12 opener in four sets to Stanford, but have won seven in a row, four by sweep and three in five. Cal is averaging 13.54 kills, 1.42 aces, 15.26 digs and 2.43 blocks per set, hitting .309 as a team. Junior Mima Mirkovic is tops on the squad with 3.40 kills per set, followed by seniors Maddie Haynes (2.52) and Bailee Huizenga (2.11). Junior Isabel Potter (8.17 assists per set) and sophomore Jade Blevins (4.77) are splitting setting duties. Senior Emma Smith is first with 3.89 digs per set, while junior Preslie Anderson leads with 0.98 blocks per set.ย 

THE SERIES: UCLA VS. CALIFORNIA
The Bruins lead the all-time series with California, 64-9, and have won eight of the last nine. The Golden Bears won in three at UCLA last season, while the Bruins won in five in Berkeley. UCLA is 30-5 at home versus Cal.
