Bruins T-5, Wu T-6 After Day One of Pac-12s

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Bruins are tied for fifth after one round of the Pac-12 Championship, shooting a 9-over 293 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club on Monday. UCLA is just four shots back of second-place Stanford (+5) and 10 behind first-place USC (-1).

Senior Beth Wu was the low Bruin for the day, firing an even-par 71. She made two birdies on the first and 15th holes and two bogeys.

Sophomore Patty Tavatanakit is tied for 14th following a 2-over 73. She made five birdies on No. 1, 5, 7, 12 and 16, five bogeys and a double. Junior Mariel Galdiano is tied for 20th (+3, 74), making two birdies on the fifth and 15th and five bogeys. Freshman Phoebe Yue is tied for 25th (+4, 75), making four bogeys. Junior Clare Legaspi is tied for 32nd (+5, 76), making a pair of birdies on No. 13 and 16, five bogeys and a double.

The Bruins begin round two on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Legaspi, Yue, Galdiano, Tavatanakit and Wu.
