
Bruins Second at Pac-12s With 18 Holes to Go

EUGENE, Ore. - The Bruins shot the second-lowest round on Tuesday at the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship and sit in second place after 54 holes at the Eugene Country Club. UCLA posted a 7-under 348 and is at 12-under (1,053) heading into Wednesday's final round. The Bruins are just three strokes behind California (-15, 1,050).
Three Bruins are inside the Top 10, as senior Cole Madey is tied for third after three rounds at 8-under 205, three shots back of Cal's Collin Morikawa. For the second time in three rounds, Madey eagled the par-5 sixth hole, adding three birdies on No. 3, 16 and 18 and three bogeys in a 2-under 69.
Sophomore Eddy Lai is solo fifth at 4-under 209 following a 4-under 67 on Tuesday. He made an eagle on the par-5 13th, adding birdies on No. 2, 4, 6 and 9 and two bogeys.
Sophomore Devon Bling is tied for sixth at 3-under 210, matching Lai's 4-under 67. He made five birdies on No. 6, 9, 13, 16 and 17 and one bogey.
Senior Patrick Murphy is tied for 16th (E, 213), shooting a 1-over 72 on Tuesday on two birdies (No. 9 and 16), one bogey and a double. Junior Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 28th (+3, 216), posting a 2-over 73 on one birdie (No. 10) and three bogeys. Senior Jack Ireland is 67th (+18, 231), recording a 7-over 78 on two birdies (No. 6 and 10), four bogeys, a double and a triple.
The final round of the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship will begin for UCLA at 9:06 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Ireland, Yoshihara, Murphy, Bling, Lai and Madey. Pac-12 Networks will feature live final-round coverage, starting at 2 p.m.
