The UCLA women's volleyball team finishes up the non-conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday at UC Santa Barbara. The match starts at 6 p.m. at The Thunderdome, and will feature free live video courtesy of BigWest.TV. The Bruins commence Pac-12 Conference play next Wednesday, Sept. 25 against USC at 7:30 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. UCLA rounds out the weekend at Pauley versus Arizona State on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 12 p.m. Both matches will be televised on Pac-12 Networks and will feature free live audio on UCLABruins.com.

The Bruins, as of Monday, are one of only four teams to have played only three sets in every match this season, along with Grambling (1-7), Montana (0-8) and South Carolina State (0-11) ... junior Mac May has double figures in kills in six of eight matches and was named to the All-Tournament Team in all three tournaments ... senior Savvy Simo has produced double figures in digs five times and at least 10 kills on three occasions, notching a pair of double-doubles ... sophomore Kelli Barry has double figures in digs in six matches in a row, averaging 4.67 digs per set ... sophomore Devon Chang has at least one ace in all eight contests ... Michael Sealy won his 200th career match as a head coach on Sept. 6 against Texas State ... UCLA will celebrate its first 100 years with a year-long, university-wide Centennial Celebration. UCLA Athletics has several Centennial Celebration plans and giveaways in store for designated home events, including a set of 13 Centennial pins highlighting each sport, as well as a souvenir mosaic poster that features personal photos submitted by UCLA fans. SCOUTING THE UC SANTA BARBARA GAUCHOS
UC Santa Barbara is off to an 8-1 start, bringing an eight-match winning streak into Wednesday's contest with UCLA. The lone loss for the Gauchos came on Aug. 31 at Colorado in four sets. UCSB is averaging 13.81 kills, 1.33 aces, 15.75 digs and 2.67 blocks per set, hitting .225 as a team. Senior Lindsey Ruddins leads the offense with 4.75 kills per set, one of five players averaging at least 2.00 kps. Sophomore Olivia Lovenberg (6.52 assists per set) and freshman Romoni Vivao (5.93) split the setting duties. Sophomore Zoe Fleck is first with 3.74 digs per set, while junior Rowan Ennis (1.61) and freshman Deni Wilson (1.13) are each averaging over one block per set. The Bruins lead the all-time series with UC Santa Barbara, 62-9. The last meeting between the two teams came at The Thunderdome on Sept. 13, 2015, with UCLA winning in three. The last three meetings have come in Santa Barbara (UCLA, 3-1, Sept. 1, 2012; UCSB, 3-1, Dec. 6, 1998).
