SOMIS, Calif. - Sophomore Emma Spitz continued her streak of Top 5 finishes, placing fourth at the Bruin Wave Invitational. UCLA placed sixth (+75, 939), shooting a 315 (+27) on Wednesday.
Spitz finished in solo fourth (+7, 223). She shot a 5-over 77 at The Saticoy Club on Wednesday, making birdies on the par-5 sixth and eighth holes and the par-4 15th, adding four bogeys and two doubles.
Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara tied for 12th (+16, 232), posting a 6-over 78 in her final round. She made a birdie on the par-4 fifth and seven bogeys. Sophomore Annabel Wilson tied for 43rd (+27, 243), recording a birdie on the par-5 sixth, seven bogeys, a double and a triple (+11, 83). Junior Phoebe Yue and sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri both tied for 52nd (+31, 247). Yue, playing as an individual, made a birdie on the par-4 16th, four bogeys, two doubles and a triple (+10, 82), while Paltrinieri had three birdies on the par-5 sixth, par-3 10th and par-4 12th holes, nine bogeys and two doubles (+10, 82). Junior Simar Singh tied for 62nd (+34, 250), making a pair of birdies on the par-3 ninth and par-4 15th holes, six bogeys and a double in a 6-over 78.
The Bruins' next tournament will be the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix (March 26-28).
