No. 14 UCLA Tees it Up at Lamkin Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The No. 14 UCLA women's golf team will compete at the Lamkin Invitational hosted at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. The 54-hole stroke play event will begin with two rounds on Monday, Feb. 14, and end with another 18 holes on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
The Bruins tee off in a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT with Cal.
Monday's yardage for the first two rounds is set for 6,329 yards and Tuesday's at 6,254 yards.

UCLA's starting five will be composed of juniors Emma Spitz and Yuki Yoshihara and freshmen Alessia Nobilio, Caroline Canales and Zoe Antoinette Campos. Yoshihara will be making her 2021-22 season debut after posting one top 10 finish and averaging 76.1 strokes per round in the 2020-21 campaign.
Spitz enters the competition as the only Bruin to have each round of golf this season count towards the team score. Spitz is averaging under-par scores in the second and third rounds at 71.8 and 70.8, respectively.
Nobilio is averaging the lowest round score of any UCLA golfer this season at 72.7 and 71.4 for counting rounds.
EVENT HISTORY
USC won last year's event by 24 strokes, finishing 16-over 880. The Bruins tied for second as a team with TCU at 40-over 904. Spitz was runner up at the event last season, completing her three rounds at 1-under 215 (70-70-75) as one of only three players under par.
Spitz was one stroke behind the individual champion Allisen Corpuz.
THE FIELD
Joining the Bruins in the 14-team field are eight top-25 teams, including No. 1 Stanford, No. 4 Oregon, No. 11 Texas, No. 13 San Jose State, No. 15 Arizona, No. 20 USC, No. 21 Arizona State and No. 23 Ole Miss. Cal, Colorado, Kansas, Pepperdine and San Diego State round out the participants.
LAST TIME OUT
UCLA last competed three weeks ago at The Match in the Desert in Gold Canyon, Ariz., where it posted a 4th-place finish (+1, 577). Canales led the Bruins with the first top-10 finish of her career after posting a 1-under 143 (only two rounds). The Bruins' three other counting scores on day three all placed within the top 20: junior Emilie Paltrinieri tied for 15th and Spitz and Campos tied for 17th.
