UCLA Tees Up at the ASU/PING Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The No. 16 UCLA women's golf team returns to action for the first time in over three weeks when it tees off for round one of the PING/ASU Invitational hosted on the Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz., on Friday, March 25.
The three-day, 54-hole stroke play event has a course yardage of 6,426 and is a par 72.

The Bruins' starting five is composed of Caroline Canales, Emma Spitz, Alessia Nobilio, Ty Akabane and Zoe Antoinette Camps. Emilie Paltrinieri will be competing individually. Spitz leads UCLA with a 73.2 scoring average and six under-par rounds.
Canales and Nobilio were the Bruins' top scorers in their last tournament at The Gold Rush. The duo posted a pair of 5-over 221's to tie for fifth place. It was Canales' second and Nobilio's third top-10 placing of the season.
UCLA has recorded four top-3 finishes this season and has been the runner-up on three occasions (The Molly Collegiate Invitational, Blessings Collegiate Invitational and The Gold Rush).
Joining the Bruins in the 16-team field are six other top-25 teams: No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Oregon, No. 7 Virginia, host No. 9 Arizona State, No. 14 Michigan and No. 22 Baylor. Colorado, Denver, Harvard, New Mexico, Northwestern, Oregon State, San Diego State and Washington will also be in the field.
Seventeen of the Top-50 golfers in Golfstat's individual rankings are in the field, including UCLA's very own Emma Spitz (No. 18). A total of 41 of the Top-200 golfers in the nation highlight an excellent field presenting a resume-building opportunity.
Campos tees it up first on hole one for UCLA at 9:06 a.m. PT. Canales will be the Bruins' final send off at 9:50 a.m. PT.
