Sacramento, Calif. - UCLA Cross Country wrapped up competition at the NCAA Division I West Regionals hosted by Sacramento State University late Friday morning, the women competing in the 6,000-meter race and the men in the 10,000-meter race. The women finished 12th in a field of 37 teams finishing with 357 points. The men placed 20th, finishing with 508 points.

The Bruin women began the day at 10 a.m. at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. Freshman Brooke Johnston led the way for UCLA, finishing 53rd overall with a season-best mark of 20:38.3. Junior Mia Kane finished with a 20:43.2, placing 62nd. Crossing the line next were junior Hailey Golmon (77th, 20:51.9), sophomore Chloe Browne (81st, 20:55.2), and junior Angelina Shandro (87th, 20:58.2). The final runners were sophomores Bella Browne (92nd, 21:03.0) and Kaho Cichon (120th, 21:31.2).

The men kicked off their 10K race at 11 a.m. PT. Junior Mateo Bianchi was UCLA's top runner, finishing 63rd with a 30:36.5. Next to finish were sophomores Conor Gibson (89th, 31:08.2) and Harrison Dance (107th, 31:24.5), followed by junior Patrick Curulla (118th, 31:37.4) and senior Dylan Wilbur (136th, 32:01.4). Sophomore Chris Chavez (174th, 33:10.7) and freshman Mark Cortes (177th, 33:17.4) rounded out the field for UCLA.
