LOS ANGELES – The No. 2 UCLA softball team will host Howard on Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. (PT) for HBCU Night at Easton Stadium in one final tune-up before Pac-12 Conference play. The game will be available for viewing on the UCLA Live Stream.

Recapping the Judi Garman Classic
UCLA went a perfect 5-0 at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. for the second year in a row. The Bruins outscored their opponents 40-4.
Against UCF last Friday, Maya Brady stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh and the game tied, 1-1, and delivered with a walk-off hit to left field. Later that day against Fresno State, Brady recorded the fourth multi-homer game of her career in UCLA's 8-1 win over the Bulldogs.
Brady's strong performance continued into the Bruins' 16-0 trouncing of the Mustangs on Saturday. She went 2-for-2 and scored in all three of her plate appearances. Sharlize Palacios went 3-for-4 and recorded the fifth grand slam of her career and her first in a UCLA uniform.
Brady finished her weekend with a .412 batting average, three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and a .941 slugging percentage.
In Saturday's night cap against Michigan, freshman Megan Grant had her best game yet as a Bruin, going 4-for-4 and a triple shy of the cycle. Grant had three separate RBI base hits: a single to put UCLA on the board in the first inning, a solo homer in the third and a double down the right field line in the fourth.
Palacios secured UCLA's final 6-2 victory of the Judi Garman Classic against host Cal State Fullerton. Palacios stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth with a chance to break the game wide open, but it was not before Titans (11-9) pitcher Raci Miranda intentionally walked Maya Brady, loading the bases to face the two-time All-Pac-12 catcher. On a 3-1 count, Palacios ripped a ball down the right field line for a three-RBI, bases-clearing triple to push UCLA out to a 6-2 lead. It was the second triple of her career. Palacios is now tied for third on the team with 20 RBI and second with a .623 slugging percentage. Her three-bagger comes just one day after hitting the fifth grand slam of her career against Cal Poly.
