No. 25 UCLA to Host Bruin Diving Invite, Utah this Weekend

LOS ANGELES – The No. 25 UCLA swim and dive team is set for a busy weekend at Spieker Aquatics Center, as the program will host the annual Bruin Diving Invitational from Friday through Sunday (Jan. 12-14) while also welcoming Pac-12 opponent Utah for a Saturday dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. PT.
Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. each day of the diving invitational. This weekend's diving invite features divers from 14 different programs, including three Pac-12 schools. Besides the host Bruins, schools entering divers include Stanford, USC, Utah, Cal Baptist University, BYU, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Minnesota, Northern Arizona University, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, and Wisconsin.
Real-time results will be available at DiveMeets.com (dive) and the MeetMobile app (swim). Admission to the Bruin Diving Invitational and the Utah dual meet are both free.
UCLA is off to a strong start to the 2023-24 season, posting a 4-1 record in dual meets and winning two of three invitationals during the 2023 portion of the schedule.
Two records were broken by two different Bruins in the fall portion of the season. Paige MacEachern has enjoyed success throughout the fall, capped by a stellar performance at the Art Adamson Invitational. The junior set a school record in the 400 IM in Texas, finishing in 4:06.15 and winning the event. Additionally, Brooke Schaffer set another school record for the Bruins at the US Open held in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Mountain View, California native finished the event in 25.65 to both set a school record and hit the Olympics trials standard.
On the diving side, the Bruins wrapped up a strong fall at the Trojan Diving Invite back in November. Lauren Hallaselka took home first place in the 1M competition, as well as third in the 3M competition over the three-day event.
