Betts Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES โ Junior Lauren Betts of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions held between Nov. 19-25.

Betts recorded her third-consecutive double-double in Sunday's win over No. 1 South Carolina, 77-62. The center had an 11-point, 14-rebound performance โ her fourth double-double in five games โ to take down the No. 1-ranked team for the first time in UCLA program history. The Bruin big shot 5-for-8 from the field, dished out four assists and blocked four shots in the statement win over the Gamecocks. UCLA handed South Carolina its first loss in 602 days, snapping the 43-game winning streak for the defending national champion. After the victory, UCLA Women's Basketball claimed its first-ever No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll.
