Bruins Set For NCAA Championships

March 20, 2024 | Swimming & Diving

ATHENS, Ga. โ€“ UCLA swim and dive heads to Athens, Georgia, this week for the 2024 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Georgia at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.

The four-day meet runs from Wednesday, March 20 through Saturday, March 23.

The Bruins are sending a group of seven student-athletes to NCAAs this year, the same amount as in 2023. Outside of last season the last time UCLA sent seven student-athletes to NCAAs was back in 2016. UCLA's contingent includes three swimmers and four divers.

All sessions of the 2024 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships will be televised live on ESPN+.

Live stats will be available through the MeetMobile app, or online at NCAA.com. Fans can also follow along on Twitter and Instagram at @UCLASwimAndDive for live UCLA-centric updates.

UCLA, ranked No. 21 in the latest CSCAA Top-25, is coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships, the program's fifth consecutive top-four finish at Pac-12s.

The seven qualifiers for the Bruins include Eva Carlson in the 100 and 200 breast, Eden Cheng in platform diving, Zoe Jespersgaard in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive, Lauren Hallaselka in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive, Paige MacEachern in the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 fly, Rosie Murphy in the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 back, and Savana Trueb in the 3-meter and platform dive.

Of the seven Bruins competing at the NCAAs, five have participated in prior editions of the championships; only Jespersgaard and Hallaselka will be participating in their first NCAA Championships.

In last year's event Eden Cheng scored points for the Bruins in the team category after placing 15th overall in platform diving with a score of 253.20. ย
