Betts Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES โ Junior Lauren Betts of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions held between Dec. 31-Jan. 6.

The junior had back-to-back double-doubles in the top-ranked Bruins' 2-0 week in the new conference. Betts had 13 points, 10 rebounds and matched a career-high five assists against No. 24 Michigan on New Year's Day. The center swatted four shots and snagged two steals in the top-25 win over the Wolverines. Betts followed up with another dominant performance at Indiana; she finished the 11-point win over the Hoosiers with 25 points (12-16 FG), 12 rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Betts leads the Bruins in points (19.8), rebounds (10.0) and field goal percentage (.615, 112-182 FG) at the midway point of the 2024-25 season.

Betts secures her seventh-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award. Only Noelle Quinn has more weekly honors for the women's basketball program with eight; Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kyla Ross hold the all-time record with 10 apiece.
