No. 7 Softball Set to Begin 2026 Season

LOS ANGELES – No. 7-ranked UCLA begins its 52nd season of organized softball in 2026 with five games at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament and Mark Campbell Invitational this week. The Bruins (0-0) open the season at Easton Stadium on Friday, Feb. 6 with two home games versus UC Santa Barbara at 4 p.m. (PT) and Northern Colorado at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be available for viewing on Big Ten Plus (B1G+). Fans in attendance will receiving a complimentary schedule poster.
After Friday's action, UCLA travels to Bill Barber Park in Orange County for two games at the Mark Campbell Invitational on Saturday against former Pac-12 Conference foes Oregon State at 4 p.m. and Utah at 6:30 p.m. Both contests will be streamed by FloCollege. The Bruins close Week 1 action on Sunday back at home against UC Riverside at 1 p.m. on B1G+.

USA SOFTBALL COLLEGIATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST
• UCLA seniors Megan Grant, Taylor Tinsley and Jordan Woolery were named to the prestigious 2026 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List, it was announced Jan. 21. The full list is comprised of 53 student-athletes from 24 universities. This marks the third straight year Grant and Woolery have appeared on the Watch List, and the second straight for Tinsley. Last season, Grant and Woolery were USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Finalists with Grant making the cut for the Top 25 and Woolery advancing to the Top 10.
• The Top 25 Finalists for the award will be announced April 29. While an athlete does not have to be on the Watch List to be considered for the Top 25, the eventual USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will come from the Top 25 Finalists. Two Bruins have received the honor a total of three times. Rachel Garcia was a back-to-back winner of the award in 2018 and 2019 and Stacey Nuveman won the award in 2002. Six UCLA student-athletes have been a Top 3 Finalist for the award a total of nine times, most recently accomplished by Maya Brady in 2023.
REMEMBERING STACY WINSBERG
This marks the 22nd year UCLA has honored the life of program alumna Stacy Winsberg. Winsberg was a member of UCLA's first three NCAA Championship teams (1982, 1984 and 1985) and was a two-time All-American in 1984 and 1985. In December 2001, she passed away after a battle with lung cancer. UCLA began hosting the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament in 2002 (did not host during the 2021 season). UCLA owns a 101-10 record (.910) when competing in the Tournament.
