    • MET-Rx UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

    Sophomore Kristee Porter (Tyler, TX/John Tyler HS) of the UCLA women's volleyball team was selected the MET-Rx UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-24.

    In two Pac-10 wins over the Arizona school this weekend, Porter helped keep the Bruins' undefeated league record intact with 53 kills (6.63 per-game average), 23 digs and a .451 hitting percentage. Porter started the weekend with a match-high 17 kills at Arizona State and then recorded a Pac-10 season-best 36 kills against Arizona.

    Porter now has six 30+ kill matches, tying her with Natalie Williams for the Bruin career lead in that category. She is 27 kills away from reaching the 1,000-kill mark in just her second season.
