Did not compete for the Bruins… Ran three races during the outdoor campaign, all in the 1500m event… Recorded a season-best mark (3:54.19) at the USC Dual Meet, claiming third behind two Bruin teammates.

2023 (Track & Field)
Appeared in two races with UCLA during the outdoor track and field campaign… Ran a season-best 3:43.49 in the 1500m race at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival… Placed third at Bob Larsen with the mark.
2022 (Cross Country)
Ran in one meet for the Bruins, scoring in his sole appearance of the 2022 season… Placed 29th overall at the Highlander Invite on Oct. 15, running a 24:34.2 in the meet hosted by UC Riverside.
2021 (Cross Country)
Made his lone appearance for the Bruins at the Dellinger Invite, where he finished 104th on the 8k course with a time of 25:04.2.

NorCal product set to toe the line for the Bruins following an elite prep career at Jesuit High School … Most recently ran a lifetime-best 3200m time of 8:46.32 at the 2021 Brooks PR Invitational, good for third place overall at the meet … The monster performance at Brooks PR capped a 2021 season that saw him earn 11 individual victories, including a double in the 1600m (4:09.95) and 3200m (8:56.57) at the Dublin Distance Fiesta … Also notched a PR of 4:07.81 against Delta High School earlier in the season … Won all seven of his cross country races in the shortened 2020-21 season, including a victory against Pleasant Grove that saw him run a 5,000m PR of 14:55.0 … As a junior in 2019, became the CIF-SJS XC champion with a time of 16:21.0 on the 5k course … Finished no lower than seventh overall in cross country that season.

Born in Berkeley, Calif., to parents Olga and Essex Salcido … Has an older brother, Essex, and a younger brother, Santiago … Wants to pursue a career in sports medicine … Decided to attend UCLA because “it is the No. 1 public university in the country and to pursue my academic and athletic goals” … Lists winning the 1600m (4:09) and 3200m (8:56) at the Dublin Social Distance Fiesta as his greatest athletic thrill … Admires Jesse Owens … Enjoys spending time alone and relaxing.
