Sonnhalter played four years of varsity volleyball at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. โฆ was a two-time First Team All-Moore League selection and Team Most Valuable Player โฆ did not play as a senior after suffering a season-ending knee injury at Junior Olympics in the summer of โ19 with Club Mizuno Long Beach โฆ PrepVolleyball Senior Ace โฆ coached by Carlos Briceno โฆ helped Mizuno Long Beach to a fifth-place finish at the GJNC 17 Open, a bronze medal at the Windy City Open Qualifier and a silver medal at the Pacific Northwest Open Qualifier.

Born Gabriella Sevilla Sonnhalter in Long Beach, Calif. โฆ mother is Natalya, father is Aaron and stepmother is Amber โฆ father was on the crew team in college โฆ has two younger sisters, Charlotte and Isla, and a younger brother, Trevor โฆ chose to attend UCLA because she has been raised as a Bruin her whole life, with her stepmother, grandfather and cousin having all attended UCLA โฆ No. 1 reason she competes in volleyball is the thrill she gets from playing and enjoying working together as a team to win โฆ hobbies include going to the beach and spending time with friends and family โฆ thing she likes the most about volleyball is the strong work ethic it requires to succeed and the relationships she forms while supporting each other as a team โฆ favorites include the television show โFriendsโ, eating sushi and the Los Angeles Chargers โฆ majoring in political science.
