Formico played 3 1/2 years on the Lancersโ varsity volleyball team after being promoted from her freshman team at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif. ... was a three-year starter at setter for head coach Leahi Hall ... named All-West Catholic First Team as a sophomore, junior and senior (2009-11) ... also named West Catholic MVP in 2010 and SFHS Female Athlete-of-the-Year in 2011 ... earned California Division II Player of the Year accolades and CIF MVP honors after guiding SFHS to a record ninth CIF State title in 2010 (junior year), defeating Troy in the finals (22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17) ... played club with City Beach and helped them to a Junior Olympic Bronze medal as a setter in 2009 and placed fifth in 2010.
