BOULDER, Colo. -ย Senior Jordan Anderson notched her third double-double of the season with 15 kills and 14 digs, while both Bruin setters, junior Ryann Chandler (27 assists/11 digs) and freshman Kylie Miller (19 assists/13 digs) also had double-doubles, but the 12th-ranked Bruins dropped a four-set decision at #20 Colorado on Sunday at the Coors Events Center. Set scores were 25-21, 24-26, 25-15, 28-26.

Chandler's double-double was her sixth of the year and second in a row to tie her for the team lead, while Miller recorded the first of her career. Freshman Torrey Van Winden had 10 kills, junior Reily Buechler posted nine kills and nine digs and sophomore Zana Muno notched nine kills. Senior Taylor Formico tallied her 36th double-figure digs match in a row with 15. UCLA had a season-best six service aces from a half dozen different players and hit .199 for the match.

Colorado (10-4, 2-2 Pac-12) led from start to finish in set one, jumping out to an early and set-best lead of four at 8-4. A 4-1 UCLA run on kills by Buechler and Van Winden, a Chandler ace and a Colorado attack error got the Bruins to within one at 9-8, but the visitors could not even the score. The Buffaloes quickly got their lead back up to four at 16-12 and eventually won the set by the same margin, 25-21. Buechler, Muno and Van Winden all had three kills, while Miller added seven digs, as the Bruins were out-hit .139 to .095.

The Bruins didn't take their first lead of the match until 12-11 of the second set to punctuate a 4-0 run. Down 11-8, a kill by Muno, a Miller ace and spikes by Van Winden and senior Claire Felix put UCLA up by one. Even at 17, another 4-0 run on a kill by senior Jennie Frager, a combo block by Anderson and Felix, an Anderson kill and an ace by sophomore Taylor Schlener gave the Bruins a set-best lead of four at 21-17. Colorado came back with five straight to re-take the lead, but two Anderson kills and a CU attack error gave the Bruins two set points. The Buffs saved both of them, but a Van Winden kill and another CU attack error gave UCLA the 26-24 win to even the match. Anderson had four kills in an error-less 11 swings, while Buechler and Van Winden each added three kills. The Bruins and the Buffaloes each hit .282.
ย
UCLA never led in set three. Colorado took an early 9-2 lead before the Bruins scored three straight on two errors and a Van Winden solo block. But the four-point deficit was as close as UCLA would get the rest of the way. The Buffaloes' largest lead would be 11 at 24-13 and they won the third 25-15. Anderson had three kills and five digs to lead the Bruins, who were out-hit .424 to .214.

The Bruins had two set points in the fourth, but were unable to come away with the victory. Colorado jumped out to early leads of 8-4 and 13-8 before the Bruins made their way back. Trailing 22-19, UCLA scored four in a row on kills by Muno and Anderson, a combo block from Anderson and freshman Madeleine Gates and a CU attack error to take its first lead of the set at 23-22. After a sideout, a Muno kill gave the Bruins a set point, but it was saved. An Anderson kill earned a second set point, but the Buffs got the next two to get a match point. Van Winden stopped that one with a kill, but Colorado posted the final two points to win the fourth 28-26. Anderson notched six kills and four digs in the fourth, Buechler added three kills and four digs and Muno had three kills. Formico tallied eight digs and Chandler added six, as the Bruins out-hit the Buffaloes .212 to .196.
