Bruins Face Cougars in WSU's Pink Meet

PULLMAN, Wash. โ€“ The No. 15 UCLA women's swim team continues Pac-12 competition this week when it hits the road to take on Washington State.ย  The meet takes place at WSU's Gibb Pool on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT.ย 

Last time out, the Bruins dominated their home opener.ย  UCLA hosted Oregon State, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Florida Gulf Coast last weekend for its Breast Cancer Awareness meet.ย  Led by Linnea Mack and Emma Schanz, who each posted two first-place finishes on the day, the Bruins won nine of 13 events.ย  Seven swimmers recorded top times between the lane lines, while seniorย Annika Lenzย swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events.

UCLA is 9-0 all-time against Washington State.ย  In their last matchup, the Bruins downed the Cougars 143-104 in their 2014-15 season home opener at Spieker Aquatics Center.ย  Lead by then juniors Katie Kinnear and Arlyn Upshaw, UCLA won 11 of 14 races.ย  ย ย

The Bruins return to the pool next weekend to host the Arizona schools.ย  UCLA faces No. 22 Arizona on Friday, Nov. 4, before squaring off with Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 5.ย
