PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - The third-ranked Bruins head north this upcoming week for the Stanford Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs from Monday through Wednesday at the Poppy Hills Golf Course (par 71, 6,069 yards).

The starting fivesome for the Bruins will be juniors Lilia Vu and Beth Wu, sophomores Mariel Galdiano and Clare Legaspi and freshman Patty Tavatanakit. Live scoring will be available here.

Joining the Bruins and the host and ninth-ranked Cardinal in the 14-team field are #5 Oklahoma State, #13 Northwestern, #18 Washington, #22 Iowa State, #23 Florida State, #50 Oregon, Cal Poly, California, Georgia, Pepperdine, San Jose State and UC Davis.

The Bruins opened their season with a second-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate (Oct. 1-3) in Eden Prairie, Minn., while Tavatanakit began her career with a similar second-place showing. UCLA as a team finished at 4-under 860 for the three-day event, 12 shots back of Arkansas. Tavatanakit produced under-par rounds each day with 1-under 71s in her first and last rounds and a second-round 69 (-3) to finish at 5-under (211), five back of Arkansas' Maria Fassi. Galdiano tied for 11th, rebounding from a first-round 76 to shoot a 70 (-2) and a 69 (-3) in her last 36 holes to finish at 1-under (215). Legaspi and Wu each tied for 16th (+1, 217), with Wu notching a pair of 71s to close her tournament and Legaspi firing a 2-under 70 in her second round. Vu, a two-time First Team All-American, will be making her season debut at Stanford.

UCLA is the defending champion of the Stanford Intercollegiate after winning the 2016 rain-shortened, 36-hole event by 11 shots (-4, 572). The Bruins have won the event four times (1995, 2008, 2011, 2016). Bruin alum Bronte Law claimed her third consecutive Stanford Intercollegiate a year ago to give UCLA four straight medalist honors (Law 2014-2016, Alison Lee 2013). This is the first time the Stanford Intercollegiate has been held at Poppy Hills while renovations are being done to the Stanford Golf Course.
