SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico - Junior Lilia Vu, winner of four collegiate tournaments, will enter Sunday's final round one shot back after posting a second-straight, 2-under 69 on Saturday at the Battle at the Beach at Club Campestre San Jose.

Vu is tied with two others for second place at 4-under 138, one stroke behind Wake Forest's Jennifer Kupcho (-5, 137). For the second round in a row, she parred all nine holes on the front nine. Vu added another par on #10 before making a birdie on #11. She balanced her books with a birdie on #13 and bogeys on #12 and #16. Vu would finish strong though, making birdie on her last two holes (#17-#18) to finish with another nice round.

As a team, the Bruins are one of three squads under par, tied for second with Texas at 1-under 567 and trailing first-place Oklahoma by five (-6, 562).

Junior Beth Wu and freshman Patty Tavatanakit are both tied for 17th at 2-over (144), each recording a 1-over 72. Wu rebounded from a double bogey on her opening hole (#4) with back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth. She would then come back from a stretch of four bogeys on six holes with birdies on three of her final five holes, gaining strokes on #17, #18 and #2. Tavatanakit, starting on the third, made birdies on #4 and #15 to go with three bogeys.

Sophomores Mariel Galdiano and Clare Legaspi are each tied for 25th (+3, 145). Galdiano made four birdies on #5 (first hole), #11, #13 and #4, adding five bogeys en route to a 1-over 72. Legaspi shot a 5-over 76, recording a pair of birdies on #12 and #13, five bogeys and a double. Freshman Vera Markevich is tied for 81st (+23, 165) following a 10-over 81, making a birdie on #13, seven bogeys and two doubles.

The final round of the Battle at the Beach will begin at 7:30 a.m. with another shotgun start on holes #1-#5 in the order of Vu, Tavatanakit, Wu, Galdiano and Legaspi. Markevich will start her final round on #18. Live scoring will be available here.
