Bruins Up Seven, Vu Up Four After 36 in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomore Lilia Vu was bogey-free on Tuesday during the second round of the Pac-12 Championships at the Sewailo Golf Club, shooting a 6-under 66 to take a four-shot lead after 36 holes.
Vu, who was tied with teammate and fellow sophomore Bethany Wu following Monday's first round, posted three birdies on each side, gaining strokes on #3, #5 and #6, as well as #11, #16 and #17. Vu, winner of her last three events, is 18 holes away from becoming the first Bruin ever to win four tournaments in a row and the fifth UCLA golfer to win medalist honors at the Pac-12 Championships.
As a team, the Bruins are also 18 holes away from their first conference title since 2006 and their sixth overall. UCLA shot the best round of the day with a 3-under 285 and is the only team under par after 36 holes at 1-under 575. The Bruins lead Colorado (+6, 582) by seven strokes.
Wu is solo second at 3-under (141) following a 2-under 70 on Tuesday. She made four birdies on #7, #11, #16 and #18 to go with a pair of bogeys.
Freshman Mariel Galdiano is tied for seventh at 2-over (146), recording a 1-over 73 for the second round in a row. She posted four birdies on #2, #13, #15 and #16, as well as five bogeys. Junior Erin Choi is tied for 19th at +7 (151), shooting a 4-over 76 on Tuesday, making her lone birdie on #14 to go with three bogeys and a double. Freshman Clare Legaspi is tied for 43rd (+14, 158), notching a 9-over 81, making six bogeys and a triple.
The Bruins begin their final round on Wednesday at 9:20 a.m. on the first tee in the order of Legaspi, Choi, Galdiano, Wu and Vu. Live scoring will be available here.
