The 20th-ranked Bruins return to Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom this weekend, hosting California on Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 2 Stanford on Sunday at 4 p.m. The Stanford-UCLA matchup will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks National, L.A. and Bay Area. Additionally, free audio will be available for both matches at UCLABruins.com.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The month of November opens up at Oregon State on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., which will be followed by a Sunday, Nov. 4 matchup at No. 16 Oregon at 12 p.m. The UCLA-OSU match will have a free video stream courtesy of Oregon State, while the UCLA-Oregon contest will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins remained at 20th in this week's AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll for the third week in a row. UCLA is one of seven Pac-12 teams ranked in the Top 25 (No. 2 Stanford, No. 15 USC, No. 16 Oregon, No. 19 Washington State, No. 21 Washington and No. 23 Arizona), with Utah and Colorado also receiving votes.

The Bruins picked up the 1,300th victory in program history on Oct. 10 against Arizona State ... speaking of 1,300, senior Zana Muno surpassed that career total in digs versus the Sun Devils, putting her into fifth in UCLA history. Muno has 1,360 digs as a Bruin and is 45 behind Samantha Shaver (1,405) for fourth place ... on Friday, UCLA won for the first time in Seattle since Oct. 3, 2003 (15 matches), while its victory over Washington snapped a nine-match overall losing streak to the Huskies ... the Bruins had 22 blocks in the Sept. 2 victory at then-No. 19 San Diego, their highest total since Nov. 8, 2007 against Oregon State. This century, UCLA has five matches with at least 20 blocks, with the 22 at USD ranking third on that list ... the Bruins are 9-0 when winning the third set of a match, as well as 7-0 when winning set four ... UCLA is 9-0 when leading the match in hitting ... the Bruins are 5-0 when leading in blocks ... UCLA is 3-0 in five-set matches ... senior Kyra Rogers had 12 digs in her two matches last weekend, which equaled her total from her previous eight contests combined. She is averaging 5.50 digs per set in her last seven, and also has three service aces in her last two contests ... after entering the Cal match with 18 career kills in 23 sets, redshirt freshman Alexis Light has 67 kills in her last 24 for an average of 2.79 kills per set. She went for a personal-best 19 kills in Berkeley, hitting .405 ... having started each of the last five matches at setter, junior Kylie Miller is averaging 11.38 assists and 2.50 digs per set during that span. She also has five aces in the last handful of matches ... junior Savvy Simo has at least five digs in all but one match this season. She has nine double-figure digs contests, going for a career-high 25 at Cal Poly on Sept. 7 ... sophomore Mac May has double figures in kills in 14 of 17 matches, having gone for at least 20 three times this season. She set a new career high with 27 kills at Washington, including 10 in the fourth and victorious final set. May has three double-doubles in a row and six on the season, and behind the service line, has eight aces in her last four contests ... junior Madeleine Gates has at least seven kills in all but one match this season, including double figures in seven of them. She has just 33 hitting errors in 17 matches, including none versus Arizona on Oct. 12. Gates, who has hit at least .300 in 10 matches this season, also has at least five blocks in six tilts.
SCOUTING THE CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS
California (11-10, 3-7 Pac-12) has alternated wins and losses in its last six matches, losing in three at Oregon last Friday before sweeping Oregon State on Sunday. The Golden Bears are averaging 12.98 kills, 1.25 aces, 14.77 digs and 2.30 blocks per set, hitting .231 as a team. Four players are posting at least two kills per set, led by sophomore Mima Mirkovic's 3.07 kps. Junior Bailee Huizenga is second at 2.50 kps, followed by senior Carmen Annevelink (2.48) and sophomore Preslie Anderson (2.09). Sophomore Isabel Potter (5.74 assists per set) and freshman Jade Blevins (5.52) split the setting duties. Mirkovic is first with 3.05 digs per set, while sophomore Lauren Forte is tops with 1.57 blocks per set.ย
THE SERIES: UCLA VS. CALIFORNIA
The Bruins lead the all-time series with California by a total of 64-8. UCLA extended its winning streak over Cal to eight on Sept. 28, coming back from 2-0 down to win in five sets in Berkeley. Mac May had a double-double with 20 kills and 14 digs, Alexis Light posted 19 kills and Zana Muno recorded 25 digs. The Bruins are 30-4 all-time in Westwood against the Golden Bears, winning three in a row.
SCOUTING THE STANFORD CARDINAL
Stanford (18-1, 10-0 Pac-12), which is at USC on Friday, has dropped just four sets during conference play. The Cardinal are averaging 15.15 kills, 1.40 aces, 13.43 digs and 3.24 blocks per set, hitting .312 as a team. Junior Kathryn Plummer is first on the team with 4.89 kills per set, junior Audriana Fitzmorris is second at 2.98 kps and sophomore Meghan McClure is third with 2.82 kps. Junior Jenna Gray quarterbacks the offense and is posting 12.55 assists per set. Junior Morgan Hentz is first with 5.05 digs per set, while senior Tami Alade (1.67), senior Courtney Bowen (1.53), freshman Holly Campbell (1.28) and Fitzmorris (1.11) are each averaging over one block per set.ย
