LOS ANGELES โ Senior Zana Muno posted a match-best 19 digs, while sophomore Mac May (13) and redshirt freshman Alexis Light (10) were each in double figures in kills, as the 17th-ranked Bruins recorded their first sweep of the season with a victory over Oregon State on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

The Bruins (8-5, 3-3 Pac-12) led from wire-to-wire in set one, scoring the first four points of the match on kills by May and Light and two Oregon State (10-8, 0-6 Pac-12) errors. The Beavers closed their deficit to one on a few occasions at 7-6, 15-14 and 16-15, but were never able to tie the score. With the 16-15 edge, the Bruins would go on to score nine of the last 12 of the set. Six straight points on a Light/Gates block, two May kills, one from Mosser and two OSU errors made it 22-15. The teams sided out the next six points, as a Mosser kill wrapped up a 25-18 victory for UCLA. May was error-free with six kills in 11 attempts in the first, Light added four kills and Mosser posted three with six digs. The Bruins out-hit the Beavers, .324 to .029.
Set two featured one tie after the first two points were played, but UCLA never trailed. For the second set in a row, the Bruins scored seven of the first nine, as Rogers recorded two kills and an ace, Light posted a kill and Oregon State committed three errors. The Beavers got to within one at 7-6 and 10-9, but five in a row on a May kill, a Miller/Rogers block and three OSU errors put the Bruins up by half a dozen. Leading 23-16, another Beaver attack error and a Miller kill concluded the 25-16 victory. Rogers was error-free with five kills in nine swings. Mosser was 3-for-6 with no errors and four digs, Light added three kills, Muno notched 10 digs and May had four digs, as the Bruins out-hit the Beavers, .289 to .073.
Oregon State held the lead through the first half of the third set, leading by as many as three on a few occasions. Down 11-8, the Bruins scored four in a row on an OSU service error, Mosser and Light kills and a Rogers ace to take the lead for good. Up 16-15, UCLA scored six of eight on three May kills, one each from Rogers and Mosser and an OSU error to go ahead 22-17. The Bruins' largest lead of the third was six, which would also be the final margin, as a Light kill closed out a 25-19 victory and the match win for the Bruins. May paced UCLA with six kills, Rogers was a perfect 3-for-3 in kill attempts and Light was 3-for-8 with no miscues. Muno recorded six digs and Mosser had four. The Bruins out-hit the Beavers, .314 to .273.
