LOS ANGELES - Redshirt sophomore Rachel Garcia hit a two-out, solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday night at Easton Stadium, as the fourth-ranked Bruins recorded a 3-2 victory over #24 Oregon State.

UCLA improved to 26-2 overall and 2-2 in Pac-12 play with the win, while the Beavers fell to 19-11 and 2-2 in league.

Garcia started the game in the circle and struck out six in five innings, giving up one earned run (two total), three hits and one walk. Senior Selina Ta'amilo earned the win in relief to move to 5-1, tossing two hitless frames and giving up one walk with a strikeout.

At the plate, the Bruins had six hits from five different players, as freshman Kinsley Washington posted a pair of hits.

After 3 1/2 scoreless innings, UCLA scored a pair of unearned runs in the fourth. Sophomore Bubba Nickles led off by reaching on an error, moved to second on a sacrifice by junior Taylor Pack and scored one out later on a single to left by Washington. With Washington taking second on the throw home, the freshman would score on a double to center by freshman Briana Perez to extend the lead to 2-0.

Oregon State battled back with two runs in the fifth on a two-run homer to center by Michelle Sass.

The game would remain tied until two outs in the bottom of the seventh, as Garcia connected on a 1-2 pitch to right-center, her fifth homer of the season, to send the Bruins to victory.
