Bruins Finish Sixth at Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Bruins closed out the Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship with a sixth-place showing. UCLA shot a 10-over 294 to finish at 28-over 880 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
Junior Mariel Galdiano was the top Bruin finisher, tying for 13th at 5-over 218. She shot a 1-over 72 on Wednesday, making one birdie on the 10th, two bogeys and 15 pars.
Senior Beth Wu tied for 18th (+7, 220), posting a 5-over 76 in her final round on three birdies (No. 6, 9 and 12) and eight bogeys. Sophomore Patty Tavatanakit tied for 22nd (+9, 222), shooting a 5-over 76 on one birdie on the seventh and six bogeys.
Junior Clare Legaspi tied for 30th (+12, 225) and was the lone Bruin under par on Wednesday, firing a 1-under 70. She made two birdies on the 14th and 16th, one bogey and 15 pars. Freshman Phoebe Yue was 40th (+15, 228), scoring a 7-over 78 on one birdie on the third hole, four bogeys and two doubles.
Next up for the Bruins are the NCAA Regionals (May 6-8), which will be held at four sites across the country (Auburn, Ala., East Lansing, Mich., Norman, Okla. and Cle Elum, Wash.). UCLA will find out which site it is going to next Wednesday, April 24 when Golf Channel airs the Selection Show at 2:30 p.m.
