NAPA, Calif. - Junior Mariel Galdiano shot an even-par 72 on Monday at the Silverado Showdown and is tied for 11th after 36 holes at the Silverado Country Club. As a team, the Bruins are in ninth place (+24, 600) after a +21 (309).
Galdiano is at 2-over 146 after two rounds, making two birdies on the eighth and 15th and two bogeys on Monday. Junior Clare Legaspi is tied for 16th (+4, 148), shooting a 5-over 77 on two birdies (No. 2 and 17) and seven bogeys. Senior Beth Wu is tied for 37th (+8, 152) following an 8-over 80 on a 17th-hole birdie, five bogeys and two doubles. Sophomore Vera Markevich is tied for 54th (+10, 154), notching an 8-over 80 on a seventh-hole birdie, six bogeys and a triple. Freshman Phoebe Yue is tied for 66th (+12, 156), posting an 8-over 80 on a third-hole birdie, six bogeys and a triple.
The Bruins will begin their final round on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Galdiano will begin on the sixth, Legaspi on the seventh, Markevich and Wu on No. 8 and Yue on the ninth.
