PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. - Freshman Emilie Paltrinieri recorded a 4-under 67 on Tuesday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club, as the Bruins finished fourth at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. UCLA shot a 2-over 286 in its final round to close at 6-over 858.
Paltrinieri made six birdies in her final round, gaining strokes on No. 5, 6, 8, 9, 14 and 16. She made just two bogeys to finish in solo fourth at 4-under 209.
Freshman Emma Spitz tied for seventh (-2, 211), recording a 4-over 75 on Tuesday on two birdies on the fourth and 11th and six bogeys. Senior Mariel Galdiano tied for 29th (+7, 220), shooting a 3-over 74 on two birdies (No. 6 and 14), three bogeys and a double.
Sophomore Phoebe Yue was under par on Tuesday, shooting a 1-under 70. She made five birdies on No. 5, 6, 10, 14 and 17 and four bogeys to tie for 47th (+10, 223). Freshman Annabel Wilson tied for 49th (+11, 224), recording a 5-over 76 on two birdies (No. 5 and 11), five bogeys and a double. Freshman Yuki Yoshihara, playing as an individual, tied for 80th (+22, 235), posting a 4-over 75 on three birdies (No. 6, 8 and 11), two bogeys, a double and a triple.
Next up for UCLA is the Bruin Wave Invitational, Feb. 24-25, at the San Luis Obispo Country Club in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
