LOS ANGELES - Junior Holly Azevedo struck out five in six shutout innings, while four Bruins had multiple-hit games at the plate, as No. 4 UCLA recorded its second-straight, run-rule victory with an 8-0, six-inning win against Cal Poly on Friday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins (2-0) had 11 hits from seven different players, with sophomore Kelli Godin and freshmen Maya Brady, Seneca Curo and Alyssa Garcia each notching two. Curo and junior Brianna Perez both drove in a pair of runs.

Azevedo scattered three hits in her complete-game blanking, posting 1-2-3 innings in the second and sixth, and a pair of strikeouts in the first inning.

The Bruins scored a pair of runs in the second. Brady led off with a single to left, junior Delanie Wisz walked and Garcia singled to right to plate Brady to make it 1-0, as Wisz took third. One out later, Curo tapped one to second for an RBI grounder to score Wisz with UCLA's second run.

UCLA added three runs in the fifth. Curo and Godin led off the inning with back-to-back singles, and both came home one out later on a double to right-center by Perez to bring the lead to 4-0. After Perez stole third, she scored on a grounder to second by redshirt junior Aaliyah Jordan to make it 5-0.

The Bruins recorded three runs in the sixth to keep the game from getting to a seventh. Garcia led off with a double to left-center, and scored one out later on a double to right by Curo to make it 6-0. A Godin infield single advanced Curo to third, and after Godin swiped second, freshman Taylor Edwards nubbed a single in front of the plate to bring in Curo with the seventh run. Edwards then stole second, and when the throw went into center field, Godin scampered home with the mercy-rule run.

The Bruins play twice on Saturday, facing Pittsburgh at 11:30 a.m. and CSU Bakersfield at 2 p.m. Both games will feature free live audio on UCLABruins.com.
