Paltrinieri, Wilson Remain in Contention at PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX - Sophomores Emilie Paltrinieri and Annabel Wilson are still in contention after two rounds of the PING/ASU Invitational at the Papago Golf Course. As a team, the Bruins are tied for 11th (+14, 590) following a second-consecutive, 7-over 295 on Saturday.
Paltrinieri is at 3-under 141 after 36 holes, two shots back of the individual lead held by Northwestern's Kelly Sim (-5, 139). The sophomore shot a 2-under 70 on Saturday, making four birdies on the par-5 10th and ninth holes, the par-4 second and the par-3 fourth, adding two bogeys.
Wilson is one shot back of Paltrinieri at 2-under 142 (T-6), shooting an even-par 72 in her second round. She made a pair of birdies on the par-5 15th and par-4 second holes and two bogeys.
Sophomore Emma Spitz (T-60, +9, 153) shot a 4-over 76, making three birdies on the par-4 16th, 18th and second holes, four bogeys and a triple. Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara (T-66, +10, 154) posted a 5-over 77 on three birdies on the par-5 15th and first holes and the par-4 13th, five bogeys and a triple. Junior Phoebe Yue (83rd, +16, 160) made five bogeys and a double in a 7-over 79.
The Bruins begin the final round on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. off the 10th tee in the order of Yue, Yoshihara, Spitz, Wilson and Paltrinieri. Live scoring will be available here.
