No. 25 Swim and Dive Set for First Meet of 2024

LOS ANGELES โ The No. 25 UCLA swim and dive team returns to action this weekend with a tri-meet against UC San Diego and Wisconsin at UC San Diego. The meet is set to get underway at 11 a.m. PT, with live results available on MeetMobile($).

The meet marks the Bruins' (4-1) sixth dual competition of the season and their first action since mid-November. UCLA has earned dual wins over Washington State, UC Santa Barbara, Illinois, and most recently Arizona so far during the 2023-24 season.
Heading into Saturday's competition, UCLA boasts a winning record against UC San Diego at 4-0 but has never faced Wisconsin in a dual setting.

Two of the squads in the three-team dual will be ranked heading into the meet as Wisconsin checks in at No. 13 while UCLA is listed at No. 25 in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) rankings.

UCLA has finished first in every competition it's entered so far this season except for one, taking dual meets over Washington State, UCSB, Illinois, and at Arizona. The Bruins also finished first while competing at the five-team Fresno State Invite to open the year and placed second at the prestigious Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M.

The Bruins have had multiple standout performances throughout the fall portion of the season. 11 Bruins have earned NCAA "B' cut standards across 10 events.

Two records were broken by two different Bruins in the fall portion of the season. Paige MacEachern has enjoyed success throughout the fall, capped by a stellar performance at the Art Adamson Invitational. The junior set a school record in the 400 IM in Texas, finishing in 4:06.15 and winning the event. Additionally, Brooke Schaffer set another school record for the Bruins at the US Open held in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Mountain View, California native finished the event in 25.65 to both set a school record and hit the Olympics trials standard.
