LOS ANGELES – Redshirt Junior Carson Schwesinger of the UCLA football team has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions completed between Oct. 29 – Nov. 4.
In UCLA's 27-20 win over Nebraska on Saturday, Schwesinger was the Bruin's top performer on defense. The redshirt junior posted a team-high 13 tackles, becoming the first Bruin since 2014 to notch double-digit tackles in six straight games. The Moorpark, California native came up with a huge fourth-quarter sack to force a turnover on downs and help UCLA seal the victory. He had more than twice as many tackles as any other Bruin while adding two pass breakups, tied for the team lead.
Schwesinger secures his first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
