ORLANDO, Fla. - 
Sophomore Lilia Vu recorded a second-place finish, while the Bruins placed third in the season-opening ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M at the Reunion Resort's Watson Course.

UCLA, which led by two shots after two rounds, finished four shots back of USC following a 5-over 293 on Tuesday. The Bruins were 20-under (844) for the tournament. UCLA led the field in par 4 scoring (-8) and was tied for first in par 3 scoring (-2).

Vu notched a second-place finish for the second time in her career (2016 PING/ASU Invitational), shooting a personal-best, 10-under 206. She shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday, recording birdies on the seventh and 14th with three bogeys (#2, #8 and #16) to place one stroke back of Arkansas' Maria Fassi. Vu led the field in par 4 scoring at 6-under.

Sophomore Bethany Wu tied for 14th at 5-under (211). She also shot a 1-over 73, tallying four birdies on holes #2, #5, #14 and #15 and five bogeys. Senior Bronte Law tied for 21st at 3-under (213) after a 1-over 73. She birdied the second, had bogeys on #4 and #8 and parred the final 10 holes. Freshman Mariel Galdiano tied for 27th at even-par (216). She shot a 2-over 74 on Tuesday with a birdie on her opening hole and three bogeys (#3, #4 and #12). Freshman Clare Legaspi tied for 43rd at 5-over (221). Her lone birdie in her 2-over 74 round came on the seventh to go with three bogeys (#1, #2 and #11).

Next up for the Bruins is the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 14-16) at the Stanford Golf Course.
