SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Sophomore Lilia Vu is the overnight leader at the Bruin Wave Invitational, which had its second round halted due to darkness on Monday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Vu is 2-under overall through 14 holes of her second round, one shot ahead of Pepperdine's Momoka Kobori. Play will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m., which will be followed by the third round immediately after the conclusion of the second. Live scoring will be available here.
As a team, the Bruins are currently in second (+22), 13 shots back of Stanford (+9). UCLA shot a 12-over 304 in the opening round on Monday.
Vu was tied for the lead after 18 holes following an opening-round, 3-under 70. She was bogey-free for the round, making an eagle on the par-5 10th and a birdie on the par-3 17th to go with 16 pars. She is 1-over so far in her second round.
Freshman Mariel Galdiano was tied for fifth after her opening-round, even-par 73. She made a pair of birdies on the fifth and ninth, as well as a pair of bogeys. Galdiano is currently tied for ninth at 4-over through 12 holes. Junior Erin Choi was tied for 45th after round one, shooting a 6-over 79. Her lone birdie came on #7, adding three bogeys and two doubles. She has moved up 15 spots and is tied for 30th at +9 (+3 in round two). Sophomore Bethany Wu was tied for 63rd following 18 holes after a 9-over 82. She made one birdie on #4 to go with six bogeys and two doubles. Wu has jumped up 25 positions into a tie for 38th at +11 (+2 in round two). Junior Lydia Choi had a non-team scoring 86 (+13, T-77) in the morning, making 11 bogeys and a double. She is currently tied for 66th at +17 (+4 in round two).
Freshman Clare Legaspi, playing as an individual, was tied for 19th after the first round, shooting a 3-over 76. Her lone birdie came on the 18th hole, which was her third hole of her opening round, as she also made four bogeys. Legaspi is currently in solo eighth at 3-over and is even par so far in round two. Junior Joo Seo shot an 8-over 71 in the morning and was tied for 57th, making eight bogeys. She is currently tied for 49th at +13 (+5 in round two). Senior Hadas Libman was tied for 69th after 18 holes after a 10-over 83, as she made seven bogeys and a triple. Libman is currently tied for 75th at +20 (+10 in round two).
