UCLA Six Shots Up, Two Bruins Tied for First

SEATTLE - The top-ranked and defending Pac-12 champion Bruins remain in first place at the Pac-12 Conference Championships at Broadmoor Golf Club, holding a six-stroke lead after 36 holes, while junior Lilia Vu and freshman Patty Tavatanakit are tied for first heading into Tuesday's final round.
The Bruins were one of only two teams to shoot under par on Monday, recording a 2-under 286 to put them at 3-under 573 through 36 holes. UCLA is up by half a dozen over USC (+3, 579) and seven ahead of third-place Arizona (+4, 580).
Tavatanakit and Vu are both at 6-under 138 after two rounds. Tavatanakit posted a 3-under 69 for the second day in a row, notching five birdies on #7, #9, #11, #13 and #18 to go with two bogeys on #6 and #10.
Vu shot a 2-under 70. She made birdies on four of her first seven holes (#3, #4, #6 and #7), adding another one on the 12th, while making three bogeys on #10, #11 and #16. Junior Beth Wu is tied for 24th (+5, 149), shooting a 4-over 76 on Monday on one birdie (#14), three bogeys and a double. Sophomore Mariel Galdiano was nine shots better in round two, posting a 1-under 71, as she is tied for 31st (+7, 151). She made four birdies on #5, #7, #15 and #17 and three bogeys. Sophomore Clare Legaspi is tied for 44th (+11, 155), making a birdie on her final hole (#18) and seven bogeys in a second-round 78 (+6).
The Bruins look to make it back-to-back at the Pac-12s on Tuesday. The final round for UCLA starts at 10:20 a.m. off tee #1 in the order of Legaspi, Galdiano, Wu, Vu and Tavatanakit. Live scoring will be available here.
