Freshman forward Jessica Winton (Atlanta, GA/Westminster School) of the
women's soccer team was selected the MET-Rx UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week
for the week of Nov. 8-14.
Winton scored the game-winning goal in the fourth minute of overtime to give the Bruins a 2-1 NCAA second-round victory over the University of San Diego. Winton also assisted on UCLA's go-ahead goal in the first half. Winton, who last week was named the Pac-10's Co-Freshman of the Year, leads the Bruins with 26 points and ranks second in the Pac-10 in goals scored. With 12 goals this season, she is two goals shy of tying the school freshman record for most goals scored in a season.
