Senior Sean Kern (Honolulu, HI/Punahou School) of the UCLA Men's Water Polo Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
Kern led the UCLA water polo team to its second consecutive and seventh overall NCAA Championship with an 11-2 victory over UC San Diego. Kern was named the NCAA Tournament MVP and was selected to the All-Tournament first team for the second consecutive season. In the championship game, he recorded two goals, a steal, an assist and two field saves. In the semifinal game against Navy, Kern scored two goals.
Also last week, he was named the MPSF Player of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors for the fourth consecutive year.
The Student-Athlete of the Week honor is the second for Kern this season.
