Senior Mohini Bhardwaj (Cincinnati, OH/Alexander Smith Academy) of the UCLA Gymnastics Team was selected for the second consecutive week as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 19-25.
At the Pac-10 Conference Championships, Bhardwaj repeated as all-around and vault champion. In becoming the first gymnast in Pac-10 history to win back-to-back all-around titles, Bhardwaj scored a Pac-10 Championship record 39.8. She also became the first to win back-to-back vault titles, scoring a career-high tying 9.975 to tie for first place. Bhardwaj also tied for second on bars (9.95) and floor (9.95) and fourth on beam (9.925).
Bhardwaj was also honored after the meet as the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year, giving UCLA five straight winners.
This is Bhardwaj's fourth student-athlete of the week honor of the season and the sixth of her career. No other UCLA athlete has been selected as many times this year.
