Junior guard Michelle Greco (LaCrescenta, CA/Crescenta Valley HS) of the UCLA Women's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 8-14.
Greco led UCLA to its first Pac-10 Conference win of the season, a 65-53 win over cross-town rival USC. Greco led all players with 23 points (15 in the second half) and added four assists and three steals. She keyed UCLA's second-half comeback by scoring eight points in the Bruins' 16-1 run that gave the team a 49-43 lead with nine minutes to play. She also hit five of six free throws down the stretch and made a layup in the final minute to seal the victory.
This is Greco's second UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week nod this season. She was previously selected Dec. 4-10 after scoring a career-high 34 points in the win over Long Beach State.
