Junior wide receiver Freddie Mitchell (Lakeland, FL/Kathleen HS) of the UCLA Football Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 25-31.
Mitchell earned MVP honors at the Sun Bowl Dec. 29 after catching nine passes for a Sun Bowl-record 180 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown reception. Mitchell's nine catches tied the Sun Bowl record.
Mitchell ended the season with 77 receptions for a school single-season record 1,494 yards (19.4 average) and nine touchdowns. He averaged 124.5 yards per game.
This is Mitchell's third UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week nod this season.
